Chocolate Almond Butter Oatmeal
Oatmeal reimagined. Our Almond Butter bar is married with creamy oats, vanilla sugar and almond butter for oatmeal that is rich in essential minerals and utterly delicious. Oats are a valuable source of many nutrients. With a low glycemic index and high levels of fibre and antioxidants, a considerable body of scientific work points to the benefits, and much like chocolate, working to fuel our gut microbiomes and improve our digestive and heart health. This recipe reminds us of the transformative power of food and ritual, and we hope this one makes it onto your morning or PM routine.
Serves approximately 4 people
Prep time: 15 minutes
Chill time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Oatmeal base
80 g ginger, peeled and grated
2 cups oats
2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
To Serve
¼ FLINT Chocolate bar, sharded
2 tablespoons almond butter
2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
3 tablespoons favourite plant-based milk
2 tablespoons almonds
2 tablespoons hemp hearts (optional)
Method:
Combine ginger and oats, then place in a pan with water and salt. Over high heat, bring to a simmer and cook for approximately 15 min, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches a soft consistency.
Divide the porridge between 4 bowls or low jars (we love reusing old jam jars) and add the chocolate, almond butter and sugar. Top with your favourite plant-based milk and sprinkle with almonds or any other sweet topping of your choice. Give it all a twist, and it’s ready to indulge.
Serve hot or cold, as your preference. This Flint Chocolate almond butter oatmeal with vanilla sugar will keep up to 3 days in an airtight container stored in the fridge.
We hope you enjoy this chocolate almond butter oatmeal as much as we did, and let us know how you go!
